0% Financing on all Mustangs, including Bullitt

0% Financing on all Mustangs, including Bullitt

Want a Mustang or a Bullitt? Now you can have one at 0% financing for 72 months.

You should without a doubt contact your local Ford dealer to check this out. I was able to get my Bullitt at 0% when they were offering it back in August.

Unfortunately, this will only last until the end of the month… So take advantage of this now.

It’s possible that they will offer this again, but probably not on the Bullitts.

If you have any questions about this program for the Mustang, or any other Ford vehicle, especially trucks, please contact Jason Lewis with Tom Smith Ford locally at 910-814-2243 or toll free at 1-877-601-3673.

Super, Super Saloons

Super, Super Saloons

In today’s market you can find a car with as much or as little horsepower as you need or want. Just 15-20 years ago you could either buy big muscle or just regular cars. Now, cruisers have muscle, lots of it, too. Every performance, or wannabe performance sedan, has at least 300hp. The Infiniti G37 sedan, Cadillac CTS, BMW 335i, hell even the Lexus IS350 has 306hp. Everything has horsepower these days.

Now, you can have even more. Not only can you have a sedan that will do 200mph with a Lamborghini, sub-4.5s 0-60’s with a Corvette, but also a track attacker like a Ferrari. Most notable for their attacks on the super car community with super saloons are the BMW M5, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, and the new comer, the Audi RS6. At first the RS6 was only offered in Touring form, but now you will soon be able to get it in super car sedan form.

First we start with the Audi RS6. A sedan that will not be available to the U.S. public. At least we get the S6. But the RS6 is where it’s at. It has a 5.0L Twin-Turbo V10 shoving out a whopping 572hp and 479lb-ft of torque. With help from a 6-spd automatic and the now famous Quattro All-Wheel Drive, the RS6 will jump off the line and hit 60 in well under 4.5s. For a period of time you can only get it in Avant form, meaning a wagon. But, in a few months, after debuting at the Paris Auto Show, you will be able to drive one home for about $155,000 U.S. Dollars, according to Edmunds. Of course, as usual, only Europe will get this beast. Just like with the Avant RS6. Why we can’t have this car is absolutely beyond me. I know it’s expensive, rare, and it would be a difficult car to sell here in the states, but even if you sold 150 of them at a premium, do you know how many rich people that just want to have the latest and greatest stuff would jump on this car? All 150 would be sold overnight. And it would undoubtedly become an all new Audi cult classic in its own right. The Audi also has a good trick up its sleeve that the other two super saloons don’t, Carbon Ceramic disc brakes.

Ownership Review: 2008 Bullitt Mustang

Ownership Review: 2008 Bullitt Mustang

I grew up in an American car family. I remember growing up with nothing but Corvettes, Cadillacs, Camaros, Mustangs, and the likes. Two 1967 Corvettes, one a 427/400 coupe, the other a 327/300 convertible, both identical in options, colors and features, graced our garage for many years. I grew up learning about the classic days of real, big-engined, muscle cars of all sorts. I loved them. Then we started buying BMW’s and Mercedes-Benz’s. I have since become a BMW guy through and through…

Still, my wild American side comes crawling back every once in a while. And now it has once again.

I took delivery, on August 22nd, of the exact same 2008 Ford Bullitt Mustang that I test drove for you guys here on RawAutos. Number 5434 of 5500 for 2008. 7700 will be made in total. I have a real gem. I have no GPS, no Ambient Lighting Package, no toys like that. All I have is Sirius satellite, HID’s, the Shaker 500 sound system, and the greatest exhaust sound this side of reality. Jacqi is her name, and driving is her game. Jacqueline Bisset was Steve McQueen’s girlfriend in the 1968 movie, Bullitt.

I love this car. It drives well, handles great, and just makes you feel like Lt. Frank Bullitt. I think I’m going to start wearing more turtle necks and sport coats once the fall and winter come creeping up.

With 315hp and 325lb-ft of torque, the Bullitt is a screamer. Those are Ford’s nice estimates to not hurt the feelings of the Shelby GT owners with only 319hp. The Bullitt actually has about 330hp, and possibly more torque. I’m not too sure on the torque bit, though.

The stealthy look will have people turning for a second look with the HID’s on and the sound of that 4.6L V8 throat. It sings with passion, as if it were Muddy Waters doing his classic Mannish Boy. Mustang GT owners don’t seem to like me too much… Oh well.

Mustangs have always been great cars to me. The interior and handling abilities, not always so much… But this has changed. With the standard GT version you can now get a 3.55:1 Limited Slip Differential rear-end, or LSD for short. If you go up to the GT500KR, you’re getting a 3.73:1 LSD rear-end. More about this stuff later. You get a front strut brace under the hood that also displays your VIN and the number of your particular Bullitt.

The Bullitt is one hell of a car. It’s special in the nature that it’s the best Mustang on sale today. You can’t get a better Mustang, with all of the fittings and special attitude, for this kind of price. The Bullitt sits on a chassis and suspension setup that has been track tuned. But track tuning that you wouldn’t expect. The 2008/2009 Bullitt is the rolling testing bed for the chassis of the 2010 Mustang GT. I found that out, too, while I was up at Ford.

Test Drive: 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and the 2008 BMW 550i Sport

Test Drive: 2009 Pontiac G8 GT and the 2008 BMW 550i Sport

Is it really a fair comparison? Most people would argue that comparing the BMW 550i to the Pontiac G8 GT is ludicrous, apples to oranges, or many other things like that. Well, Pontiac went a bit too far when they decided to advertise the G8 as better then the 5-Series. Is this true? Well, yes and no.

Yes, because it’s cheaper, very quick, more horsepower, and the epitome of American Muscle…

No, because it’s slower all across the board, heavier, American versus German, $30+K luxury compared to BMW $70+K perfection…

I’m here to give you the straight answer. Watch these videos and decide for yourself.

Thanks to Schaeffer BMW in Wilmington, NC for the Bimmer, and thanks to Gabriel and Daniel Szwec of Bill Sullivan Pontiac in Arlington Heights, IL.

Enjoy,

Posers: You Aren’t Fooling Us!

So, what is it with stupid people? I recently got a new car… one that I haven’t told you about, yet. So I will take this opportunity to tell you about it. Remember the 2008 Ford Bullitt Mustang I test drove for the site? Well, I bought it.

I bought the exact one that I test drove. Number 5434 of 7700. They made 5600 for 2008 and 2100 for 2009. And that will be it.

I am in the process of making a video review of my ownership of the Bullitt.

Her name is Jacqi, by the way.

But back to my original topic. Every time I drive I see these hideous attempts at Mustang genius. I want to ask these guys, “Do you really think someone is going to mistake your V6 for a Cobra?” I mean, really, people. Let’s get with the real program here.
