We’ve heard enough talk about BMW’s 1-Series M Coupe, right? Wrong! RawAutos alone have done 4 articles about the car since it’s come out into the public’s eye.

Now reports are coming about the official weigh-in of the new 1 M Bimmer, and the results are… 3,351 lbs. Too heavy? Relatively light? You want to know what I think? Good, because I think it’s not too shabby.

You see, Axis of Oversteer were able to grab a 1 M, throw it on a scale and saw that it weighs, with a full tank of gas, not too far off what BMW was saying it would weigh, which is only 55 lbs heavier, to be exact (BMW estimated 3,296 lbs, “preliminarily”). So with “335 hp,” I think we can agree that the baby ///M won’t be that slow in any way.

Another thing that Axis of Oversteer found out for us was the fact that the 1 M has almost a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, too. BMW has always touted its perfection with weight balance, and once again, they prove they are the best at it.

It sounds like the battle over whether the BMW 1 M is any good is just heating up…
