Posers: You Aren’t Fooling Us!

So, what is it with stupid people? I recently got a new car… one that I haven’t told you about, yet. So I will take this opportunity to tell you about it. Remember the 2008 Ford Bullitt Mustang I test drove for the site? Well, I bought it.

I bought the exact one that I test drove. Number 5434 of 7700. They made 5600 for 2008 and 2100 for 2009. And that will be it.

I am in the process of making a video review of my ownership of the Bullitt.

Her name is Jacqi, by the way.

But back to my original topic. Every time I drive I see these hideous attempts at Mustang genius. I want to ask these guys, “Do you really think someone is going to mistake your V6 for a Cobra?” I mean, really, people. Let’s get with the real program here.

Test Drive: BMW E90 M3

Test Drive: BMW E90 M3

So just like with the 135i, I drove the M3, again. What a blast!!! I love this car every time I drive it. There really isn’t much better to me then to drive the M3. I prefer the M3 sedan, or the E90. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been a sedan man… Weird, but not the point of this article. As you know, I was one of the first automotive bloggers to drive the new E92 M3 and do a full review about it. Well, here is another one, this time all on video!

Test Drive: BMW 135i Convertible

Some of you may remember my test drive review of the new 2008 BMW 135i. I did another test drive, but this time it’s all captured on camera. Make sure that you turn the sound up when watching the walkaround video.

Thanks to Horatiu for such a great editing job.

Car and Driver Dyno’s Some GT-R’s…

I was reading through Autoblog and found an interesting article about Car and Driver dynoing some Nissan GT-R’s.

We have all been wondering how the Nissan GT-R has such great performance numbers for 3700+ pounds and only 480hp. I have been saying for a while that there was more juice in that lemon, and that Nissan wasn’t telling anyone. But, C&D figured it out…

Here is a small exerpt from their webpage.

“”It’s a ringer,” we said among ourselves as soon as the first Nissan GT-R’s test results were in. Despite a power-to-weight ratio that’s 30 percent worse than that of the similarly priced Corvette Z06, that first GT-R outran the Z06 to 60 mph (3.3 seconds versus 3.4 for the quickest Z06 we’ve tested) and through the quarter-mile (11.5 at 124 mph versus 11.8 at 125). Even allowing for the launch advantages of all-wheel drive, the GT-R’s performance made us suspicious. It wouldn’t be hard for Nissan engineers, we surmised, to crank up the boost and thus jack up horsepower that would result in astonishing track numbers in American car-magazine tests. The GT-R was in such demand and our allotted time with it was so short, however, that we didn’t have time to strap it onto a chassis dyno and measure the horsepower.

New Test Drive Videos Coming Soon!

So, I was up in Chicago this past weekend visiting the owner of BMW Blog, Horatiu. We spent the whole day on Saturday driving some new cars on video for you guys. We tried to get some Audi’s and Infiniti’s, but Schaumburg Audi and Infiniti: Motor Werks decided that they didn’t want their cars to participate in good, clean test drives. That’s okay because Bill Sullivan Pontiac in Arlington Heights, IL let us do something special. As did our man Irv Robinson at Motor Werks of Barrington, IL.

So basically what I’m saying is that Schaumurg Audi and Infiniti: Motor Werks snubbed us… The Sales Manager at Infiniti even tried to use the line on me, “Our salesman are here to make money.” Really? I had no idea. I forgot that I used to be a car salesman. What’s even funnier is that the salesman that was going to give us the keys to a 2008 G37 6-spd manual had two customers in the box (that means they were in Finance finishing up the paperwork for their new cars). I guess the manager didn’t want to give new and better attention to his dealership through the internet.

I stood at Audi for about 35 minutes until I finally walked up to a busy salesman and asked for help. To their defense, they seemed pretty busy. But the Sales Manager tried to tell me that the cars I was trying to test drive for RawAutos had already been sold. At least “I think we have deposits on them, as of today.”
